Suamhirs is an emancipated foster youth. He was born in Honduras and came to the United States 3 years ago. Suamhirs was in several placements during his time in foster care. He is now part of New Alternatives, Transitional Housing Program (THP+). Week after week he shows responsibility by meeting program expectations and accomplishing weekly goals.
Suamhirs is very involved in his community. He loves to speak to and inform youth about all of the opportunities that exist for them. Suamhirs enjoys being a public speaker for Voices for Children. He was the face of this year's conference which held in Colorado in April, where he had the opportunity to meet and speak to Oprah Winfrey.
Suamhirs is a true inspiration for everyone around him. He is always trying to see the best in people, as well as the positive side to every obstacle he faces.
