Making Memories Fund

Every kid deserves a childhood. Your donation will make it possible for kids in foster care to experience the things that most take for granted.

Your support of the Making Memories fund will ensure young people in foster care will enjoy the memorable moments of growing up.

Heres what one young person from foster care has to say:

"Because of an act of kindness from staff where I lived, I was able to not only experience the Prom dress shopping experience but also attend my Junior prom." Attending these types of rites of passage allow us a glimpse into what “normal” adolescence is. Foster youth shouldnt be deprived of such wonderful memories because we dont come from a traditional family. Now, at the age of 26, I remember that moment of kindness and can not wait to share that story with my niece on her prom day!

Many youth in foster care often miss out on the everyday extra-curricular activities such as prom, or participating on athletic sports teams, simply because there is no money available to fund these “extra expenses”.

As a result, young people in foster care miss out on milestones that are an important part of childhood.

Your donation will be used to fund opportunities such as:

• Summer camp
• Sports participation fees and gear
• High school graduation photos, yearbooks, and Prom
• Birthday gifts
• Musical instruments and lessons
• Holiday items, like Easter baskets, Valentine cards, Christmas gifts
• Phone cards to stay connected with siblings
• Transportation or other costs for church events and field trips
• Scouts
