A little confused. . .
Uh Oh! You're using the Internet Explorer 6 Browser. Our site doesn't work as well for this browser, and in general it's 4 years old now and not very good.
To get the maximum amount of pleasure while browsing this and other websites you can download for free any one of these:
But if you can't download a new version on this computer you'll still be ok. Just not great! ;-P
Hi Everyone. I'm new to this website & I trying to make new friends. Obviously with the same background as me (Foster Care). This site is a great way to communicate with people who have went through the same things as me. But also a way to make new friends is sharing experiences & finding common interest. I has taken me a longggggg time to accept the fact that I was a foster child & was in the system so for me to join this club & actually talk to people is a HUGE step. I've always felt that being in foster care was my fault. Of course I've grown up & realized it was'nt. . .
Long story short, I know the message board not to give out your personal info, so how are you supposed to connect with different people.? The very same friendships we establish on here could turn out to be long lasting friendships.
A little help please??=]

I know this is a challenge, but there are some other ways to connect through FosterClub in a way that is not anonymous:
Internships: Another thing FosterClub tries to do is promote leadership opportunities for young people who have been in foster care. These opportunities often result in developing close relationships. The first one that comes to mind is the All-Star Program, which has a deadline that closes February 15th. Here's a link to the All-Star program and other similar opportunities from other organizations: http://transition.fosterclub.com/article/internships
Youth Boards: FosterClub is always trying to promote local, state, and national youth boards. This is a great way to connect to people in your area who have been in foster care. We've compiled a list of around 180 so far, and have developed tools to help youth boards connect with each other. Check out the 'youth group' section gray tab for more info.
Outstanding Young Leader Program: More info with be available about this by Monday when the application goes live, but this is an award that has really brought people together. Here's info from last year:

It did help a little. Thank youu=]
Hello,
I want to thank you for sharing your story & for joining FosterClub! =)
A good way to connect with people is by responding to their messages, like I am doing with yours now! This site is a way to connect through your foster care experience which makes FosterClub different than other social media websites.
=) Hope this helps!
