Scouts
Work with your local foster care agency or foster parent association to offer free inclusion (including the cost of uniforms and field trips) for foster youth and help to make arrangements for transportation.

Church Youth Groups
Extend invitations and help to arrange transportation for kids in group homes to attend your church. Plan a movie night for members of your church and follow up with a discussion of how your congregation can get involved to help.

Sororities and Fraternities
Students from foster care often do not have families to depend on, leaving them with no place to go when campus housing closes during breaks. Consider contacting your school counselors and housing departments to offer your house for those in need.

Key Clubs and Youth-Led Civic Organizations
Make your next service project one that benefits children in foster care. Consider making a presentation to adults in your community and build awareness of why foster care effects us all. If you are able to take in donations, work with a local foster care agency to collect suitcases, toys, books and other items for children.

Foster Care Youth Boards
Use your voice! Plan a meeting to focus on how you might work with local media. Use your stories to help get new laws passed to benefit children in foster care. Reach out to the groups listed above and offer to partner with them, sharing your expertise of the foster care system. View our Youth Group Section (need link when available)
